St. Anthony, St. Anthony, turn around, look up and down...
So. Got off work yesterday at about 12:45, went over to Cynda's and watched the end of The Notebook with her (and bawled like a baby - big surprise- at the end) and then we headed to the mall to look at new sunglasses for her since she "donated" hers to Rough River Sunday. After a successful venture there... we decided to walk around a lil' bit, and we ended up walkin in a coupla jewelry stores. Bad idea... am practically back to - or maybe am just realizing that I am still at - square one. Really doesn't matter cuz it's not like I need to know what I want anytime soon, but still... every other girl over the age of 12 in the US can rattle off their perfect ring/dress ect in 2.2 seconds without hesitation... so I feel like I should really have a better idea about this stuff.... or maybe being less picky is a good thing.. lets ya focus on the fact that you like what you got instead of you didn't get what you want... or maybe that's just a copout for lack of expectation ( and I mean the use of expectation in a good way - as in lack of expecting/wanting something terribly specific)
ok right. so enough of that. After discovering the first girl that helped us was clueless and the second store the chick knew cynda and was therefore quite chatty and unhelpful we decided that was enough. Cynda's eyes hurt from the sparkly and I'd had enough as well.
ok so onward and upward... we stopped in the Cingular store because Sarah could use a new phone... but that was a dissapointment - more unhelpful not very nice people (well Terry was working (a friend of Jeff's) and she was nice but she wasn't the one waiting on us..) so we left. Still looking to kill time... we headed to the Fashion Shop.. Yay! I love that store. Proceeded to find several things... try them on... buy most of it and leave. Next stop Books-A-Million... straight to the counter, buy Harry Potter VI and back to the car (running both times of course because it's raining). Then to Cynda's to find out about dinner (we thought about going to the Bistro with a gift certificate she had) and then I headed home... promising to come back later to play cards with some people.. yay.
so. get home and am chatting with Jennifer (my dad's gf) and midway through conversation her jaw drops and she points at my ear... she's like "earing... gone" so naturally my hands fly to my ears. First thought?? oh.. their fine as I felt the backs of both earrings... then it clicked... there was no FRONT to the earring back on my right ear!!!! SHIT!!!!! I mean I take them out when I shower, I don't sleep in them... I definately don't wear them skiing or anywhere they might be in danger of straying from my ears... and look what happens anyways... I love them... I didn't want to just sit them in a jewelry box and not wear them because if I wore them I might lose them, but on the other hand....losing one SUCKS!!
Freaking out... looking on the ground, look in my car, call cynda to look in her car, call Fashion Shop to look in the dressing room ect. I am just sure I lost it there because for the back to still be stuck on my ear--- it've had to have been pulled out somehow.. not just fallen out. I'm heartbroken. They look and dont' find it... I go back out there, shake on the things I tried on but didn't buy, retrace my steps in the store, check the parking lot. Nothing. They promise to call if the cleaning crew finds it. :'( All the while I can't count how many St. Anthony prayers I've repeated.
so this morning, talk to Lance, who's of course upset.... and then decide I should probly call BAM too and see. Talked to this cute little lady who first of all upon hearing my name exclaimed yeah I know the Danhauers! then said she'd look and calls back with no good news. Says she even said a prayer for me, and really hopes I find it. sigh. still no word from Fashion Shop.
Eat lunch, head to work... say St. Anthony prayers as I walk out to my car.... all the while looking in the grass and planning to check my car again. You're not gonna believe this but here goes. I'm in the middle of my 3rd prayer to St. A since walking out of the house (it's a short one) as I unlock my door, boom there it is. Sitting on my front driver's side seat. CAN'T MISS IT. Not down in the crack... not over on the side... SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRONT SEAT. It was NOT NOT NOT there last night. I was in and out of my car to go back to Fashion shop and to go to Cynda's last night as well as to look for the earring, and Jennifer looked to. It was NOT there last night. But it was there this morning. :D I called Jennifer, my dad, Lance, Cynda and the woman at BAM to tell them I found it and pretty much cried to whole way to work. YAYAYAYAY! and on top of that... I get to work... am getting out of my car and I hear a woman yelling to someone else across the parking lot... "OH guess what!!! I found my earing that I lost like 3 weeks ago! and my bracelet!!" I'm thinking wow.... guess who's working overtime today.. haha...
I mean I was always a believer... St. Anthony's helped me out before... but after Billy finding his wallet (the wallet I brought him back from Italy!) like a month later (TJ found it randomly in his room under a pile of clothes) and then this... I'm so St. Anthony's BIGGEST FAN! :D :D :D
